Ramon Marshia

EAST FAIRFIELD - M. Ramon Marshia, age 90, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at his home in East Fairfield.

He was born in East Fairfield on November 20, 1928 to the late Clayton & Veronica (Beals) Marshia.

Ramon graduated from Brigham Academy in Bakersfield in 1946. He married his high school sweetheart, Helen (McLaren), on August 23, 1947. Throughout his working career, Ramon worked at the creamery in East Fairfield, the Vermont Highway Department, and Union Carbide. He was an avid hunter, he also enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and watching the Boston Red Sox - if they were winning.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Marshia of East Fairfield; their children, Dennis Marshia and his wife Polly of East Fairfield, Sheila Hicks and her husband Bob of Ledyard, CT, and Michael Marshia of East Berkshire; son-in-law, Chris Beaudry of Bakersfield; five grandchildren, Tammy Larose and her husband Ron, Craig Marshia, Maxwell Calverley, Meagan Jalil and her husband Waleed, and Lindsey Koch; three great grandchildren, Wyatt Larose, Beth Larose, and Rowan Koch; his sister, Mary Cardin of Lakeland, FL; sisters-in-law, Jessie Marshia of Bakersfield, and Edith Marshia of St. Albans; several nieces & nephews; and his beloved cat, Ginger. In addition to his parents, Ramon was predeceased by his daughters, Gail Marshia, and Sharon Beaudry; infant grandchildren, Jack Jr. and Christine; brothers, Phil Marshia, and Billy Marshia; and a brother-in-law, Tom Cardin.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 4-7:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Spears Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Georges Cemetery in Bakersfield.
