Alan Buswell

ISLE LA MOTTE - Alan G. "Buzzy" Buswell, age 80, passed away on May 6th, 2025, at the University Medical Center in Burlington surrounded by his loved ones.

Alan was born on August 10th, 1944, in Norwich, England to the late George and Doreen (Potter) Buswell.

A Navy veteran, Alan embraced life, often found fishing, hunting, or enjoyed trips to the casino or a friendly game of cribbage. His love for nature drew him to the outdoors. Alan was married to his devoted wife, Vickie Buswell, on October 30, 1971. He had a fondness for camaraderie, often sharing a cold Coors Light with friends at the American Legion on Friday nights or a cup of coffee at the locate gas station.

Alan always referred to himself as, "Jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none", but he was a renowned carpenter for many years. He was always willing to help someone in need even if all they could pay him with was a cup of coffee, or a meal.

Alan is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Vickie Buswell; children, Jenny and her husband Darren Burns; Timothy Buswell and significant other, Lindsey Caddy; grandchildren, Anna Burns, Robert Burns; siblings, John Buswell and his wife Barbara, Janice Gregoire and her husband JR and Susan Austin; Mother-in-law, Betty Lockerby; siblings-in-law, Joe Lockerby and his wife Sandy, Penny Aldridge and her husband John, Patti Creller, Judy Bennett and Gary Lockerby and his wife Joyce; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Alan was predeceased by his siblings, David Buswell, Roger Buswell and his wife Donna, and Janet Buswell; brother-in-law, Tony Austin; and his father-in-law, Alvin Lockerby.

Family and friends of Alan are invited to his life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT.
