ALBURGH - Anita V. Bruley, age 94, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at the McClure Miller Respite House.
Anita was born in Alburgh on March 11th, 1931, to the late John and Valerie (Tatro) Jarvis.
Anita grew up in Alburgh, where she attended school and later married the love of her life, Raymond Bruley, on December 5, 1949. They made their home in Isle La Motte where Anita's dedication to her community was evident through her many engagements, including her role as a Foster Grandparent at Isle La Motte Elementary, where she shared her wisdom and kindness with countless children.
Anita cherished her involvement in the Isle La Motte Historical Society and the church choir. Alongside her fellow choir members, she was an enthusiastic participant in the Grandmas and Grandpas Choir. She took joy in the simple pleasures of life-solving crossword puzzles, knitting, and sharing delightful afternoons playing board games like Scrabble, cards, and Yahtzee with her friends at Pine Manor.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Ramona Bruley of Essex; grandchildren, Damie Bruley of Rutland, Dustin Bruley and his fiancé Abigail of Essex, and Michael Bruley of Chazy, NY; great-grandson, Bryan Bruley; siblings, Reginald Jarvis and his wife Lorna of Alburgh, Ursula Toutant of Burlington, Jacqueline Jarvis of Isle La Motte, and Francis Jarvis and his wife Diane of Albany, NY; and several nieces & nephews. Anita was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Bruley; her son, Roland Bruley and his wife Jeannine; infant son, Lloyd Bruley; brothers-in-law, Arthur Toutant, and Vincent Jarvis; and sister-in-law, Debbie Jarvis.
Friends and family will be invited to Anita's life celebration to include visitation from 5-7:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at St. Amadeus Catholic Church, Main Street, Alburgh, VT. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Isle La Motte. A reception will follow at Islands in the Sun Senior Center in Alburgh.
