Armande Tremblay

SWANTON - Armande A. Tremblay, age 100, passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Armande was born on September 22, 1923 to the late Omer and Yvonne (Plante) Laroche.

Armande was a woman of many talents and passions. She found joy in crafting, baking delicious treats, camping, visiting casinos and traveling to new places. On October 17, 1942, Armande married Pamphile Tremblay. One of her proud accomplishments was when she was crowned Mrs. Maple of the VT Maple Festival in 1979, a momentous occasion that brought her great pride. She was also recognized by the national food channel in 1993 for her baking. As a dedicated member of the community, Armande devoted 43 years to the Highgate Homemakers Club and was a lifelong participant in the Ladies of St. Anne, St. Louis Parish and the Franklin County Field Days.

Armande leaves her seven children and their spouses, Gilbert Tremblay and Faye Pelican, Annette Bonanno, Juliette and Terry Rice, Suzanne and Joseph Monty, Robert and Barbara Tremblay, Allen and Sheri Tremblay and Helen and Dayne Dasher; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great greatgrandchildren; siblings, Claire Menard, Denise Rainville, and Norman Laroche and his wife Charlene; and many nieces and nephews.

Armande was predeceased by her parents, Omer and Yvonne; husband, Pamphile Tremblay; great grandchild, Holden Staples; brothers, Marcel Laroche, Maurice Laroche and George Laroche; sisters, Aline Bouchard and Rita Ferland; daughter-in-law, Marie Tremblay; brothers-in-law, Hector Tremblay and his wife Bernadette, Philip Bouchard, Claude Menard, Fabien Ferland, Roger Rainville, Paul Tremblay and his wife Shirley, and Gerard Tarte and his wife Jeanette; sisters-in-law, Juliette Laroche, Ida Laroche, Anita Laroche, and Cecile Laroche.

Gifts in Armande's memory may be made to Brownway Residence Activity Fund, 328 School Street Enosburg Falls, VT 05450 or Franklin County Rehab Center, 110 Fairfax Road St. Albans, VT 05478.

In addition, the family would like to thank the Staff of the Brownway Residence and Franklin County Rehab Center for the care Armande received. A special thank you to Patrick Staples, for the care and devotion he gave to his great grandmother.

Friends and family will be invited to Armande's life celebration events to include a visitation on Thursday August 29th, 2024, from 4-7:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 30th, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Louis Catholic Church, Lamkin Street Highgate.
