Barbara Duprey

SWANTON - Barbara J. Duprey, 81, passed away on September 10, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. She was born to the late Franklin Bohannon and Anna Shedrick Bohannon.

Barbara was married to David Everret Duprey Sr. on March 30, 1962, and enjoyed many years as a married couple until David passed on August 9, 2013.

Barbara greatly enjoyed watching the birds, chipmunks and the rest of the wild animals that lived around her Swanton home. Most importantly she loved caring for her beloved dog Chloe. She took great delight in flower gardens, solving crossword puzzles and enjoying the simple tasks in life.

But every Christmas, Barbara and David would sell Christmas trees to family, friends and anyone who wanted one, spreading the joy of the holiday season. Cookies and candy were added to spread Christmas cheer and were well-remembered for many years.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tina Duprey, and her son David Duprey Jr. of Swanton. Three grandchildren, Justin Duprey and his wife Maya Duprey, Riley Fadden-Duprey and Shaylyn Durenleau, great granddaughter Isabella Duprey, her sister Claireta Sartwell and her husband Jake, her son in law Ronnie Durenleau and several nieces & nephews.

n addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her husband David Duprey Sr. in 2013, a daughter Judy Durenleau in 2022, and two brothers Floyd and Sonny Bohannon and sisters Catherine Pelkey and Eliza Hughes.
