Bertina "Bunny" Wells

HIGHGATE CENTER - Bertina "Bunny" Y. Wells, age 83, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born in St. Albans on July 25, 1941, to the late Arthur & Yvonne (Robtoy) Laplant.

Bunny married George Wells, and they spent over 40 years together before his passing in 2000. She was always worrying about her family and friends, which was a testament to the love and care she had for all of them. She always looked forward to the annual ride on Memorial Day to plant flowers on loved ones graves and conclude with a family barbeque. She loved to travel with her family & friends, dance, camp, and babysit for her great granddaughter Abby.

She is survived by her children and their significant others, George J. Wells & Marsha Stetson, Mike Wells & Norma, and Sarah Wells & Raymond Fuller; her grandchildren, Chris, Annie, Travis, Josh, Becky, Michelle, Mary, Hannah, Dakota, Jessica, and James; 18 great grandchildren; a special brother-in-law whom she considered another son, Steve Wells; sister-in-law, Louise Raymond; brother-in-law, Kenny Wells; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Bunny was predeceased by her sons, Leroy Wells, and Bobby-Jo Wells; sister, Loretta & Ronnie St. Francis; very close friends, Elaine Ungerwitter, and Bev Wells; and many other close family members and friends.

Bunny's family would like to offer a special thank you to the nursing staff at Northwestern Medical Center. They were wonderful to our Mom.

In keeping with Bunny's wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of her family.
