Betty Larivee

October 3, 1941 — May 2, 2026

ENOSBURG FALLS - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Ann Larivee, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 2, 2026, at the age of 84.

Betty was born on October 3, 1941, in St. Albans to the late Kenneth & Elizabeth (Cross) King. She grew up on the family farm in Fairfield, where her strong work ethic and passion for life began.

A proud graduate of Brigham Academy in Bakersfield, Betty forged careers that exemplified her dedication and resilience. She worked at Carney's Restaurant and spent over 30 years at Aubuchon Hardware, where her strong presence and exceptional customer service left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her time at Jo-Ann Fabric allowed her to express her creative side, particularly through her love of sewing and quilting, which brought her immense joy.

Betty cherished her time at home, preferring the company of her beloved family, cats and the beauty of her garden over travel. She was engrained into the lives of her family through life's little moments, from shop hops with Brenda to working alongside her grandson Jesse at Aubuchon, and nurturing plants in the greenhouse with her granddaughter Jennie. Family gatherings, with her famous "homemade" cheesecake and quality time with her great grandchildren meant the world to her. These memories will forever remain special treasures in the hearts of those who loved her. Stitched together with love, her memory will live on in the countless items she lovingly crafted.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Brenda Elwood and her husband Rick; grandchildren, Jesse Elwood and his wife Kristin, Jennie Cross and her husband Adam, Jason Wetherby and his wife Ashley, and Heather Barton; grandchildren, Kolby Elwood and his significant other Mariah, Tyler Elwood and his significant other Alexis, Hayden Elwood, Jaelyn Elwood, Dylan Cross, Kolton Cross, Reece Wetherby, Ryder Wetherby, and Scarlet, Xavier, Isaiah, and Alexander Barton; sisters, Barb Kittell, and Theresa Lemnah; son-in-law, David Wetherby; special friend, Pierre Boudreau; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Wetherby Paquette; her husband, David Larivee; and her best friend, Fran Rivers.

Friends & family are invited to Betty's life celebration to include a graveside funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at St. George Catholic Cemetery, Avenue Road, Bakersfield, VT. A reception will follow at the Dairy Center in Enosburg Falls.

For those who wish, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.
