ALBURGH - Betty Ann Poissant, age 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans.
She was born April 30, 1941 in Burlington to the late James & Esther (Jarvis) Irick.
Betty lived a life devoted to her family, always placing their needs and happiness above her own. After staying home to raise her children she began her career as an inspector in the pharmaceutical industry, working for Ayerst and Wyeth. After her retirement in the late 1990s, Betty & Bernard enjoyed precious winters together in Lime Tree Park, Florida, where they made lasting memories surrounded by warmth and sunshine over more than 30 years.
Betty embraced life with enthusiasm, and her cheerful spirit shone through in every game of bingo. Her greatest treasures were her family and the time they shared, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Carmen Greenough and her husband Richard, Linda Gotshall and her partner Chris Parent, James Poissant and his wife Judy, and Tony Poissant and his wife Valerie; grandchildren, Tyler & Amee, Nathan & Megan, Shawna & Mike, Chantel & Derek, Matthew & Jenna, Ryleigh & Jon, and Nicholas & Mariah; great grandchildren, Brianna, Taylor, Ethan, Owen, Cooper, Gus, Frederick, Charlie, Madelyn, Jace, Audrey, Easton, Hudson, Magnolia, and Colter; great great grandchildren, Waylon, and Mayzie; siblings, Jean Clay, Mary Merrill and her husband Curt, Bernard Irick, Sandra Rawson and her husband Alvin, and Carlene Letourneau and her husband Paul; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Poissant; her siblings, Pauline Bonneville and her husband Leonard, James Irick and his wife Bev, and Shirley Irick; and a brother-in-law, Sherman Clay.
Betty's family would like to thank the staff from Franklin County Rehab for the love and care they provided throughout her time there.
