Bruce C. Hendrick

October 28, 1927 — April 12, 2022

ENOSBURG FALLS– Bruce C. Hendrick, age 94, loving father, husband, and loyal Yankees fan, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.  

He was born in St. Albans on October 28, 1927, to the late Avery and Glenna (Rockwell) Hendrick.

Bruce graduated from Enosburg high School. Bruce was very athletic in his high school years playing baseball and football.  He was a member of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII.  Bruce and his wife started their family in Connecticut. Working for IBM before transferring to Essex, Vermont. Bruce was a reserved, thoughtful, and meticulous father throughout his life. He was always helping his wife with holiday decorations whether it was Christmas trees, lights or setting up Santa Clauses around the house. Bruce was also the taste -tester for all of his wife’s cooking. Routing for the Yankees and Raiders was one of his passions. The casino was one of his favorite spots if he was not teeing off at the Enosburg Country Club. He then opened his own golf shop at his home fixing broken clubs, catching up with old friends and listening to his favorite band the “Allard Brothers”. Bruce handed down his unique sense of humor and unrivaled sensitivity to his son.

He is survived by his son Stan Hendrick of Enosburg Falls; step-sons, Danny Danyow of Sheldon, and Robert Danyow and his wife Lorraine of Sheldon; grandchildren, Ellie, Jeremy and his wife Christin, and James and his wife Amanda Danyow; foster son, Jeff Williams; brother-in-law, John Tatro of Sheldon; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his wife Margaret Hendrick on October 26, 2013; step-daughter, Sandy Danyow-Banks; grandson, Joshua Danyow; daughter-in-law, Sally Danyow; brother, Richard Hendrick; and sisters-in-law; Jackie Tatro, and Dorothy Ovitt and her husband Richard.

Family and friends are invited to Bruce’s Life Celebration events to include an open house on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 4-6:30PM followed by military honors at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruce’s memory may be made to Northeast Little League, P.O. Box 613, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
