Bruce Potter

BERKSHIRE - Bruce Potter, age 78, passed away on Thursday, January 15th, 2026 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born on December 14, 1947 in Berkshire to Gordon and Mable (Cramton) Potter.

Bruce spent his entire life in Franklin County, between Richford, Berkshire and Enosburg. He was a proud graduate of Enosburg High School and later attended Champlain College, where he received his associate degree and started his career as an accountant. He devoted his professional life to the Sheldon Paper Mill, where his commitment and honor shone brightly until his retirement.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Bruce was a tireless volunteer for over 25 years with the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department, exemplifying his dedication to serving his community. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his love for life, and he delighted in spending evenings bowling with his beloved wife, Denise, whether it was on Couples night or during regular league play.

He was an avid sports fan, proudly supporting the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, and New York Giants. He also was the Town Auditor for Berkshire and a Justice of Peace for some time. He enjoyed spending his summer days at his camp on Lake Carmi, and his winter months in Florida in Winterhaven.

 

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Denise; children, Beth Bailey and her husband Jeff, and Dean Potter and his wife, Brenda; grandchildren, Sarah Lacroix and her husband Marc, Heather Edwards and her husband Scott, and Lyndsay Potter; great grandchildren, Bailey and Ella Lacroix; brother, John Potter and his wife Gail; sisters-in-law, Diane Dennis and Pauline Loiselle; and many nieces and nephews Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Mable Potter; brother, Alan Potter; and brother-in-law, Paul Loiselle.

Services for Bruce will be held this Spring in the East Berkshire Cemetery.
