SWANTON - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Cathy, a woman whose warmth, laughter, and endless conversation filled every room she entered.
Cathy was truly one of a kind. She had an incredible gift for bringing joy to everyone around her. Whether it was through her infectious laugh, a funny story, or simply striking up a conversation with anyone she met, she made people feel welcome, valued, and loved. If you knew Cathy, you knew there was never dull moment. She could keep a conversation going for hours, sharing stories, offering advice, reminiscing about old times, or making everyone laugh until their cheeks hurt. Her voice, her spirit, and her presence were unforgettable.
She cherished time spent with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter and love. Cathy had a way of making ordinary moments feel special, and gatherings were always brighter when she was there. Her generous heart, caring nature, and positive outlook touched countless lives.
Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Cathy's legacy lives on in the smiles she created, the kindness she shared, and the countless memories she gave to those fortunate enough to know her. She taught us to enjoy life's simple moments, to laugh often, and never to miss an opportunity for a good conversation.
Cathy leaves behind her husband, Brian Thompson; son, Scott Bailey and his wife Nicky; step-children, Chantel Bockus and her husband TJ, and Shawn Thompson and his wife Heather; grandchildren, Avri, Autumn, Mason, Isabelle, Gander, Tyler, Ayla, and Kayde; her beloved siblings, Darlene Bailey-Lambert, Suzanne Likley and her husband Kevin, Butch Bailey and his wife Kelly, and Karen LaPlante and her significant other Matt Austin; and several nieces & nephews. Cathy was predeceased by her parents, Walter Bailey Sr. and Barbara (Sturgeon) Bailey; and her brother-in-law, Michael Lambert.
In keeping with Cathy's wishes, there will be no public services for her. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
As we say goodbye, we imagine Cathy doing what she loved most - sharing stories, making new friends, and bringing joy wherever she is. Though she is no longer with us in person, her laughter and love will continue to echo in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Cathy. Thank you for the joy, the laughter, the conversations, and the love. Your light will never fade.
