Christopher S. Chicoine

BAKERSFIELD - Christopher Chicoine, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his home in Bakersfield.

He was born on October 15, 1964 in Newport to the late Patrick Chicoine & Lorene (Liberty) Curtis.

Chris served in the U.S. Navy after graduating high school. He married the love of his life, Karen (Stone), on July 17, 1993 and they made their home in Bakersfield. If you knew Chris, then you knew he loved being outside - especially hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, or working around his home. He also loved his career as a lead technician at IBM and Global Foundries for the past 25 years. Above all, Chris loved his family. Karen and their children were his world, and he was theirs. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Chicoine of Bakersfield; their two children, Calee Chicoine and her significant other Kyle Shaw, and Connor Chicoine and his significant other Jenna Hanson; his siblings, Debbi Williams, Andrea Smith, Patrick Chicoine and his wife Tina, Katrina Mallet and her husband Carl, April& Clint Matheson, and Alicia Glodgett and her husband Joey; father-in-law, Russell Stone Sr.; siblings-in-law, Kim Coon and her husband Jeff, Deb Plouffe and her husband Dave, and Russell Stone Jr.; and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Chris was predeceased by his step-father, Lee Curtis; grandparents, Lyndon & Meriel Liberty, and Patrick Sr. & Eloise Chicoine; brother-in-law, Raymond Smith; mother-in-law, Mary Stone; and nephew, Dylan Stone.

In keeping with current restrictions, visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 from 4-7:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. All friends and family will be asked to wear a mask inside.

A socially distanced funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM on the back lawn at Spears Funeral Home along the Missisquoi River. Interment with military honors will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield.
