SWANTON - Clayton T. Bouchard, age 101, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at St. Albans Health & Rehab.
He was born on November 30, 1924, in St. Albans to the late Edward & Alice (Poquette) Bouchard.
Clayton lived a life rich in experiences and marked by resilience, having lived through the great depression, and proudly serving in the United States Army during the World War II era. His quest for knowledge never waned, he was an avid reader and was always eager to stay informed about local and national politics.
Clayton found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and above all, spending time with his family. His love for animals, especially dogs, was well known, and he cherished the moments he could spend with children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Reaching the milestone of 100 years old filled him with pride, as he had the blessing of witnessing the growth and joy of multiple generations.
He is survived his children, Gary Bouchard and his wife Jane of Swanton, and Jeannie Miller and her husband Jeff of St. Albans; four grandchildren, Ryan Miller and his wife Miranda, Katie Verriotto and her husband Andrew, Jillian Rixon and her husband Deron, and Brian Bouchard and his wife Alyssa; six great grandchildren, Evelyn Miller, Lillian Miller, Gianna Bouchard, Sophia Bouchard, James Rixon, and Camille Verriotto; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Clayton was predeceased by his wife, Agnes (Quilliam) Bouchard; and 12 siblings.
