Cleo J. Yandow

December 17, 1938 — May 30, 2019

SWANTON - On May 30, 2019, Cleo Joseph Yandow, age 80, peacefully passed away in his sleep. Cleo was born in Essex, VT on December 17, 1938, to Isadore and Jeanne (Pouliot) Yandow. He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans and served as an active member and president of the FFA chapter. On October 28, 1961, he married the love of his life Trudie Favero.

Cleo was a lifelong farmer, having worked the family farm and then his own for over 25 years. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, serving as an extraordinary eucharistic minister, alter server and handyman. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7669 and served as Grand Knight for 5 years. He was very active in Cursillo and served as a team member on many retreats.

Cleo had many interests and talents, he collected and rebuilt antique John Deere tractors and was a member of the Two-Cylinder Club. There was nothing that he couldnt fix or wouldnt try to fix. He was featured in Vermont Life Magazine twice - the first time for having the first milking parlor in the state of Vermont and the second time for his love of antique tractors.

He is survived by his wife Trudie of 57 years, his daughters Lisa Ouimette and husband Ron, Penny Collins and husband Doug, Karen Yandow, Jennifer Cortez and husband Jaimie. His grandchildren, Nathan and his wife Rachel, Emily Ouimette, Danielle and Cody Collins and his fianc Jessica Turner, Jordyn, Kamren and Sam Dukas and Noah Hurlbut, and two great grandchildren Lillian Collins and Kleo Dukas. He is also survived by his siblings, Muriel Yandow, Betty Yandow, Andre and Jackie Yandow, Ted and Mary Yandow, Lauriette and John Winters, Denis and Carol Yandow, Rose and Glen Wright, Marc and Rachel Yandow, Jim Yandow, Lise Morrison, Rober Yandow, Amy and Greg Zygmont, and Jon and Lise Yandow; many nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Cleo was predeceased by his mother and father Isadore and Jeanne Yandow and brother Roy Yandow, his father- and mother-in-law Romeo and Winifred Favero and brothers-in-law John Jean and Robert Renaudette.

Above all he was devoutly dedicated to his faith in God and the love of his family.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Nativity, 65 Canada Street, Swanton VT.
