David Eugene Mott

SWANTON - David E. Mott, age 81, passed away on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

David was born on October 31, 1944 in Swanton to George and Flora (Greenia) Mott.

David attended and graduated from Swanton High School. Following this David enlisted into the United States Navy. He lived a life marked by loyalty, love, and laughter. Outside of his career, he found joy in the great outdoors, where he was a passionate fisherman and hunter. His love for sports extended to baseball and basketball, where he was not only an enthusiastic fan but also a spirited player and coach.

As a devoted member of the VFW and a dedicated Mason, David took great pride in his service to his country and community. He was known for his remarkable sense of humor and was often the jokester among family and friends, bringing endless joy and light to those around him.

David is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Concetta Mott; children, Edna Iannaco and her husband Robert, and David Mott II; grandson, Vincent Iannaco; siblings George Mott and Robert Mott; and one niece and several nephews. David was predeceased by his parents, George and Flora; siblings, Edna Johnson and Ronald Mott.

In respecting David's wishes, services will be held privately.
