Denis Journey

Denis Journey, age 68, was born on October 20, 1957, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Ann Journey and Ed Journey. He was raised in Carlsbad and later made his home in Richford, Vermont.

Denis proudly served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. A gifted musician and songwriter, he loved playing the guitar and performed on the streets of New Orleans, fulfilling one of his greatest dreams.

New Orleans also became an especially meaningful chapter in his life because it was there that he met Marie. Together, they welcomed their son, Jaxson, who became one of Denis's greatest joys and blessings. Denis cherished being Jaxson's father, and the special bond they shared will remain a lasting part of his life and legacy.

Denis was strong-willed, could always make people laugh, and was willing to help anyone in need. He also shared many wonderful memories and adventures with his younger sister, Kassie. His music, free spirit, sense of humor, and the memories he created with family and friends will never be forgotten.

Denis was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Solar; his stepfather, John Solar; his father, Ed Journey; his stepmother, Gail Journey; his brothers, Eddie Journey and David Solar; his sister, Sherri Lambert; and his nephew, Jon Journey.

He is survived by his son, Jaxson Journey; Jaxson's mother, Marie; his sisters, Kassie Stapleton, Gail Journey, Kim Redman and her husband, Lance Redman, and Paula Solar; his brother, Johnny Jack Journey and his wife, Josephine Journey; his nieces, Chessa Stapleton, Shannique Garcia and her husband, Randy Garcia, Amberlynn Wells, Valeisha Burke and her husband KC Burke,his nephew, Corey Wells; several cousins; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
