BAKERSFIELD - Donald R. Bushey, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
He was born December 15, 1930 in Swanton to the late Charles & Amanda (Raymond) Bushey.
His dedication and service to his country were evident as he proudly served in the Air Force for over two decades, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1973. Following his military career, Donald embarked on a new endeavor, working for Sherwin-Williams for many years until officially retiring.
Throughout his life, Donald cherished the simple pleasures, finding joy in fishing, leisurely walks, and supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors. His love and commitment to his family were unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on all those who knew him.
Donald leaves behind his children, James Bushey of Hope Hills, NC, Judith Leach and her husband William of Enosburgh, Lori Ann Bushey of Madison, NH, and Gary Bushey of Youngsville, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Bushey and his wife Marcia, Eric Bushey, Ashley Bushey, Holly Bassett and her husband Scott, Thomas Leach and his wife Jennifer, and Hillary Perkins; great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Everett, Dillen, Gavin, Arrissa, Weston, and Vivienne; sister, Hazel Trahan; siblings-in-law, Marcel Gervais and his wife Donna, Robert Gervais and his wife Gisele, Rose-Marie Manahan and her husband Timothy, and Carol Wickert and her husband Dean; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Gervais) Bushey; daughter-in-law, Dani Lynn; siblings, Delia Brouillette, Jerome Bushey, Robert Bushey, Dorothy LeBeau, Clifton Bushey, Ralph Bushey, and Evelyn Thibault; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends & family are invited to Donald's life celebration on Monday, July 1, 2024 to include visitation from 10-11:00 AM followed with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg.
