FRANKLIN - Donald J. Cooper, age 77, a life-long resident of Franklin, died on Friday, November 18, 2022 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

 

He was born January 18, 1945 in Highgate Falls. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Cooper; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth; his son, Christopher William; and his beloved grandson, William Patrick. They were all his pride and joy.

 

Donald proudly served in the Army from 1964 - 1967. He then served in the Army National Guard as a Mess Sergeant until retiring in 2005. Donald worked at IBM for several years and also retired from there in 2005. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post #42 in Enosburg Falls.

 

He was an avid gardener and loved sharing his vegetables with everyone.

 

Friends & family are invited to Donald's life celebration to include a memorial service on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the East Franklin Union Church, Lake Rd., Franklin. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery.

 

For those who wish, contributions in Donald's memory may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
