BURLINGTON – Donna J. Jones, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Burlington.
She was born in Swanton on February 21, 1947 to the late Donald & Regina (Langevin) Reynolds.
Donna was one of eight children and grew up in the quaint town of Swanton. She attended St. Anne’s Academy, and later received an associate’s degree from the University of Vermont. She met David, the love of her life, and they got married at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on July 8, 1967. Their family was complete after having two wonderful sons. After retirement, Donna and David spent eleven years in Florida. She certainly was a true Vermonter at heart, which was proven by her love of cool conditions rather than the warmth. She had a passion for quilting, shopping on QVC, collecting antiques, and watching her favorite shows which included the Mary Tyler Moore Show, Andy Griffith, Everybody Loves Raymond and Star Trek. Donna loved her grandchildren, spending time with family, and watching cardinals in their backyard bird feeders. Always remember that “Cardinals appear when angels are near.”
Donna is survived by her husband of almost 55 years, David L. Jones of Burlington; her sons, Eric W. Jones and his wife Erin of Burlington, and Darren M. Jones and his wife Jill of Milton; grandchildren, Brandon Quinn, and Ethan and Sophia Jones; siblings, Ronald Reynolds, Cheryl Spaulding and her husband Bruce, Aleta Nichols and her husband Ron, Candace Brady and her husband Richard , Wendy Mitchell and her husband David, and Deborah Doig and her husband William; two sisters-in-law, Christine Jones, and Fern Jones-Pouliot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Donna was predeceased by a brother, Loren Reynolds, and a sister-in-law, Maxine Reynolds.
Family and friends are invited to Donna’s Life Celebration to include a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. Interment will immediately follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
For those who wish, contributions in Donna’s memory may be made to the UVM Health Network Home Health and Hospice, 1110 Prim Rd., Colchester, VT 05446.
