Doris McGroarty Hardy

SWANTON - Doris McGroarty Hardy, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at her home in Swanton.

She was born August 11, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Arthur & Marie (Bosling) Clark.

Doris was an avid knitter, reader and collector of antiques. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping and playing golf. She and her husband, Charles created a tapestry of memories as they lived in various states, including Vermont, Florida and Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hardy; step-children, Jeff Hardy and his wife Coleen, and Laura Hardy and her wife Julie Gardner; her son; several grandchildren; her sister, Jeannette Snelbaker; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her first husband; two sons; and her siblings.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public services.
