Doris R. Worthen

RICHFORD - Doris R. Worthen, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Lowell, MA on June 22, 1947 to the late Alfred & Rolande (Boucher) Plourde.

Doris was one of 13 children. She married Benjamin Worthen on February 4, 1966 and started a family of their own. She had a heart of gold and never spoke a negative word about anyone. She was an avid Bingo player. Above all, Doris loved caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, and always welcomed anyone into their home. Teddy, her Pomeranian will miss her dearly, he has been her loyal companion for the past 13 years.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin of Richford; children, Brenda Firth and her husband, Richard of Richford, Sandra Worthen and her companion, William Ryan of St. Albans, Tammy Worthen of Leominster, MA, Cheryl Worthen of Burlington, Ruth Worthen and her companion, Gonell Wall of Enosburg, Tricia Worthen of Michigan; 36 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brothers; Robert and Ernest Plourde; sisters, Dolores McGillicuddy, Rose Hildreth; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brothers; Paul, Ronald, Raymond, and Freddy Plourde; sisters, Dorothy Plourde, Theresa Maheau, Deborah McCabe, and Rolande Plourde.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 4-7:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
