ENOSBURG FALLS - Dorothy A. Reed, age 92, widow of Newton Reed, passed away Monday June 30, 2008 at the Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.
She was born November 6, 1915 in Belvidere the daughter of the late Elrick & Mary (Burnor) Robtoy.
Dorothy was a resident of the Brownway residence for the past 2 years. She and her husband owned & operated a dairy farm in Enosburg for several years prior to moving to Pawling, NY from 1961 to 1982 at which time she moved back to Vermont. While in New York she worked for Mossman Inc. for several years. She was a member of the former Enosburg Home Dem Club.
She enjoyed gardening, especially working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren reading to them and teaching them to swim were just a few things that they will remember.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Morton & Arbutus Babe Reed of Enosburg, Norton & Bertha Sis Reed of Enosburg, and Darrell & Wanda Reed of West Berkshire; 8 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; a brother, Elrick Robtoy and his wife Marguerite of Enosburg; her sisters, Arlene Flagg and her husband Douglas of Bernestein, MA, and Angeline Sciotto of Peterson, MO.; a daughter-in-law, Jeannine Beuhler of Pawling, NY; several nieces and nephews; Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Newton Reed in 1973; her son Rayburn Reed in 1971; her granddaughter, Kathleen Sheldon in 2004; her sisters, Harriette Kilburn, Ronalda Foote, and Barbara McKinney; her brothers, Felix & Winston Robtoy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the West Enosburg Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
