Douglas Hutchinson

Douglas H. Hutchinson aged 84, passed away on March 29, 2025 in Naples, Florida. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Doug was born on March 24, 1941 in St. Albans, Vermont and grew up in Richford, Vermont. He is predeceased by parents Donivan and Esther (Holland) Hutchinson and brother William Hutchinson.

He graduated from the University of Vermont and had an outstanding career in civil engineering and construction management and finished his career with the Florida Department of Transportation. Prior to retiring from FDOT, Doug managed a large team responsible for road and bridge construction in Jacksonville.

Doug was a devoted father and husband. Throughout his life, he had a variety of interests including hunting, golfing and wood working. He took an active role coaching his sons sports teams and supporting their education.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Derby) Hutchinson, his children Wayne (Louisville, KY) and Dean (Naples, FL), and his grandchildren, Parker, Timothy, Mia and Elam. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held for family and friends on June 21st at 1:00 pm. First the burial at Richford Center Cemetery on South Richford Road with a reception immediately following at the Phoenix House in Berkshire.
