RICHFORD – Douglas L. Randall, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
He was born in St. Albans on June 7, 1959 to the late Curtis and Joyce (Garland) Randall.
Doug attended school in Enosburg and spent the majority of his life in Franklin County. He was most comfortable working and spent over 25 years logging and over 20 years farming for Pleasant Valley Farms. Doug also served on the fire department for 24 years. When Doug was not working, in his younger years he could be found breaking in new four-wheeler trails with his buddies, or playing countless hands of 31. Doug was an avid and gifted outdoorsman who had a knack for attracting deer, fish, or anything that he sought out to hunt. He loved fishing with his family where “it suits us”.
He enjoyed riding his Harley, visiting with friends, a good cigar, playing his guitar, helping out in the sugarbush, and in most recent years spending time with his grandchildren. He married Lisa Johnson on September 28, 2019, and their favorite past time was putting miles on their motorcycle. Doug certainly left his mark on this world as he was famous for using electrical tape for his fix all along with placing his initials on every single one of his possessions with DLR in black magic marker. Doug may have been hard on the outside but had a soft heart and was willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Randall of Richford; sons, Mike Randall and his wife Abbie of Berkshire; and Josh Randall and his wife Taylor of Enosburg; step-sons, Mark Robert and his wife Jessica, and Derrick Johnson and his wife Ashleigh all of Richford; grandchildren, Loghan, Maci, McKenna, Grason, Averi, and Landon; step-grandchildren, Colin, Lykin, and Raegan; siblings, Diane Delisle, Daniel Randall and his wife Sharon, and Dean Randall; several nieces and nephews; Ladd and Bryan who Doug thought of as his kids; and many close friends, Steve Phillips, Artie Young, Rick & Jimmy Thompson, Norman Preston, and Greg & Jim Raymond. Besides his parents Doug was predeceased by his son, Mark Randall; and brother, David Randall.
Family and friends are invited to Doug’s Life Celebration events on Thursday, December 30, 2021 to include an open house from 5:00-7:00PM with a service to follow at 7:00PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
Interment will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Stonehouse Road, Enosburg.
