Elaine Belisle

SWANTON - Elaine Belisle, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford.

She was born April 12, 1945 in St. Albans to the late Chester & Doris (Beyor) Laplant.

Elaine spent her life providing warmth and love to those around her. Her home was a welcoming haven for family, friends, and visitors alike. While Elaine was a homebody at heart, she cherished the company of those she loved. Known affectionately as the "hostess with the mostess," her home was always filled with love and the sweet aromas of coffee and delicious snacks.

She worked in many roles throughout her life, but she was most known as an exceptional upholsterer. She dedicated over 40 years as an upholsterer, owning and operating E & J Upholstering. Her perfectionist mentality was evident in every stitch, and her eye for detail often led her to critique the work of others during her visits to furniture stores. A true testament to her hard work and dedication.

She is survived by her two children, Laurie Belisle & Harold Garrett, and Scott Belisle & Tina Fortin; grandchildren, Dylan Belisle and Devin Fleming-Belisle and their families; sister, Shirley Jacobs; special niece, Joan Luce; special sister and brother-in-law, Donna & Roger Hoyt; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Morris "Sonny" Belisle Jr.; and her siblings, Leon Laplant, Thena Wersebe, Evelyn Many, Richard Laplant, and Francis Lee.

Elaine's family would like to thank the staff from Our Lady of the Meadows and Bayada Hospice for the love and care they provided to her.

In keeping with Elaine's wishes, her services will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Sheldon.
