ENOSBURG FALLS - Ernest Maxwell Erno Jr., A.K.A "The Supreme Commander" age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 17, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident. Born on May 16, 1954, in Saint Albans, Ernest, known affectionately as Ernie, leaves behind a legacy of laughter, joy, and a zest for life that will never be forgotten.

Ernie lived a life filled with adventure and passion. As a skilled carpenter, he dedicated himself to his craft, working with the local union for many years. His dedication and craftsmanship were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Outside of his profession, Ernie was a free spirit who found solace in nature's embrace. Whether it was casting a line while fishing or marveling at the majestic eagles soaring over the lake, he felt at peace in the great outdoors. Ernie's competitive spirit shone through in his love for card games, especially poker, backgammon, and cribbage.

Beyond his hobbies, Ernie had an amazing memory and a heart of gold. He had an unrivaled knowledge of history and never failed to remember birthdays, always offering a warm handshake as a heartfelt gift. Ernie's infectious laughter would light up any room, acting as a source of joy and comfort to friends and family alike.

He is survived by his significant other, Nancy Erno; his three sons, Maxwell Erno, Dyllan Burleson, and Ernie Erno; step-children, Amy Adams, Ridgely Adams and his wife Christy, Derek Fecteau and his significant other Christine Lacross, and Haley Tibbits; grandchildren, Casandra, Caidence, Kaitlyn, Hillary, Dakota, Serena, and Reggan; great grandchildren, Mason, Madalyn, and Monica; siblings, Kathy Kreber and her husband Larry, John Erno and his significant other Sarah Tibbits, Thomas & Lori Erno, and Betty Rivard and her significant other Deborah Lewis; Nancy's family, Lana Pucko, Laurel Sweetland, and Lorraine Wright and her significant other Ricky Davis; several nieces, nephews, and close friends, Dewey & Tosca Smith, Ted & Kathy Whitney, Dan & Debbie Peters, Art Lothian, Tony, Chris, and Lee Snide, John & Judy Heiser, and Bob Richard. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, E. Maxwell & Elisabeth (Henwood) Erno; his siblings, Hugh Erno, and Richard Erno; and special family friends, Monica Brilyea, Amber Burleson, Brent Baker, David Gokey, Richard Gokey, and Dwight Snide.

Friends & family are invited to Ernie's life celebration to include visitation on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 2-5:00 PM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. Ernie will be laid to rest at the family's convenience in East Franklin Cemetery.
