EAST FAIRFIELD - Gabrielle Annette (St. Jacques) Havreluk, 87, was called home to The Almighty Father, Thursday, July 11, 2024 after suffering for decades with Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born in Burlington, VT on January 3, 1937, the daughter of the late George & Laurette (Senesac) St. Jacques.
Gabrielle "Gabe" attended elementary schools in the Lakeside area of Burlington at St. Anthony School. She later attended private boarding school at the Sisters of The Presentation of Mary in Maine, and Sacred Heart in Newport, VT. She earned her LNA in Bennington, VT, where she met the love of her life; Anthony "Tony" Havreluk formerly of Readsboro, VT. They were married on October 4, 1958. Together they raised four children on Silver Springs Farm in East Fairfield, VT. Gabe was a woman with a deep Catholic upbringing and faith in Christ. They raised their children in the Catholic faith, belonging to St. Anthony's Parish in East Fairfield. A full-time devoted wife and mother, she later gave her time and talent to her Parish and to her community in elderly in-home care.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Suzanne (St. Jacques) Fisher of Treasure Island, FL. She and Tony loved to visit the family cabin owned by Suzanne and her late husband Ed Fisher in North Carolina as their children became older and they were able to get away from the farm. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Havreluk, beloved brother, Br. Charles St. James, her daughter Patrice Anne Havreluk, and her son-in-law, Kirk Lanphear.
She is survived by her children Anthony "Little Tony" Havreluk and his wife Heather (Monty) of East Fairfield, VT, Katrina (Havreluk) Lanphear of Hyde Park, VT, and Charles Havreluk and his wife Amy (Pigeon) of Fairfax, her grandchildren Nathaniel Havreluk of St. Albans, Mikayla Blake and her fiancé Steven Jacobs of Richford, Chelsea (Lanphear) Anderson and her husband Neal of Falls Church, VA, Carrie Lanphear of Tacoma, WA, Lucas Lanphear, Keith Lanphear both of Hyde Park, Evan Havreluk, and Alayna Havreluk both of Fairfax, great-grandchildren Jackson and Charlie Jacobs of Richford, and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in East Fairfield, VT with Fr. Jon Schnobrich, Fr. Sahaya Paul and Fr. Jerome Mercure co-celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Resurrection Park in South Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute may do so in memory of Gabrielle to Birchwood Terrace Health & Rehab, 43 Starr Farm Road, Burlington, VT 05408, the University of Vermont Home Health & Hospice, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446, or have a Mass said in her name at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 18, Fairfield, VT 05455.
