Georgette Bourbeau

June 2, 1935 — January 22, 2026

SWANTON - Georgette M. Bourbeau, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester.

She was born in Swanton, VT on June 2, 1935, the daughter of the late Albert and Blanche (Thibert) Beaulieu. She graduated from St. Anne's Academy in Swanton, VT in 1953.

On September 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Gilles Bourbeau who, at the time, was in the U.S. Army. Shortly after the wedding, they were stationed in Schwabach, Germany and spent two years enjoying the foods and sites of Germany.

After returning from Germany, Gilles and Georgette purchased a dairy farm and raised their four children. From 1976 to 2012, Georgette helped her husband in his many business ventures by doing much of the office work for Bourbeau International, Pleasant View Estates, Inc. and GTM Electric Supply Company then retiring May 2012.

Georgette loved to bowl. She took up bowling prior to meeting Gilles. On one of their dates, Gilles took Georgette bowling and she soundly beat him. He asked if she had played before and she quietly mentioned that she had been playing on a team for two years. But that didn't deter him. They later enjoyed bowling in a couple's league. She also joined a women's league that met weekly and participated in the league until the bowling alley in St. Albans closed their doors. She became a very accomplished bowler winning many tournaments throughout the years. She also enjoyed playing golf with her husband and friends and it has been heard that she beat her husband on the golf course a time or two. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong with her sister-in-law Helen Bourbeau and other lady friends. They played weekly for many years. Georgette was also a member of the Ladies of St. Anne in Swanton, VT where she helped on bingo night by working the concession and making sandwiches for the bingo players.

Georgette will be remembered most for her mischievous laugh and her sense of humor. She always had a smile on her face and was loved by everyone.

Georgette is survived by her children: Diane Forey and her husband Steve of Rouses Point, NY, Richard Bourbeau and his wife Patricia of Swanton, VT, Alan Bourbeau and his wife Kimberly of Swanton, VT, Mark Bourbeau and his wife Michelle of Conway, SC; twelve grandchildren: Nicole Bourbeau, Justin Bourbeau and wife Jessica, Eric Bourbeau, Ashleigh Hungerford and husband James, Brittany Bourbeau, Ryan Bourbeau and his significant other Kylee Pierce, Samantha Tigert and her husband Jon, Alexandra Kammann and her husband Sean, Amanda Forey and her significant other Kyle Sweeting, Daniel Bourbeau and his wife Chassi, Stephanie Bourbeau, and Christopher Bourbeau and his wife Jennifer; sixteen great-grandchildren plus three more on the way: Evony,  Annabella, Natalie, Audrey, Zachary, Asher, Hudson, Regan, Richie, Hadley, Ada, Meiz, Tilly, Grayson, Logan, and Sophie; two sisters: Dolores Breault and Denise Barewicz; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
