COWANSVILLE, QC - Georgette M. Theriault, age 99, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Hospital de Granby, in Granby, Quebec.
She was born in St. Alphonse De Granby on April 9, 1920 to the late Omer & Alexina (Parent) Parent.
Georgette was married to Rene Benoit on June 10, 1939, after he passed, she married Raymond Theriault on January 27, 1968. She was a wonderful cook and loved making her famous tortiere for her family. Georgette lived independently for many years. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, embroidering, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Sue Selby and her husband, John of NC, Pierre Benoit and his wife, Betty of Franklin, Ginette Pigeon and her husband, Donald of Fairfax; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Madeleine Benoit of Berkshire; sister-in-law, Reine Eva Parent; half siblings, Roger and Helen Parent, Raymond and Charlotte Parent; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Georgette was predeceased by husbands, Rene Benoit and Raymond Theriault; son, Gille Benoit; siblings, Baldor Parent, Yvon Parent, Yvette and her husband, Henry Chauvin, and sister-in-law, Laurette Parent.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Missisquoi Street, Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.
