Gloria Bouchard

February 21, 1938 — December 12, 2025

SWANTON - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Arruda Fosgate Bouchard, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on December 12, 2025, at the age of 87.

Born on February 21, 1938, in Rhode Island, to the late John Sr. & Mary (Santos) Arruda, Gloria made Vermont her home in 1960, where she embraced the beauty of the Green Mountain State and cultivated a life rich in love and memories.

A woman of unwavering strength and remarkable versatility, Gloria's life was a testament to hard work and resilience. Throughout her career, she held various roles and she was known for her incredible ability to manage both her professional commitments and her family with grace. She could do anything, and indeed she did. Gloria was the steadfast glue that held her family together, nurturing her children and supporting her first husband in numerous business ventures. Though she lovingly referred to her experience of learning to milk cows as her biggest regret, it exemplified her willingness to embrace challenges and support those she loved.

Gloria was not only an accomplished professional but also a talented individual who enjoyed the thrill of being a licensed pilot and a dedicated realtor. She was a cherished member of the Church of the Nativity, where her faith and commitment shone brightly in her community. In her quieter moments, she found joy in knitting, reading, and relishing the company of her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, David Fosgate, Jr. and his wife Anna, Mary Ellen Therrien, John Fosgate and his wife Doris, and Ann-Marie Fosgate-Rowland and her husband Ronald; grandchildren, Caitlin Gordon and her husband Tom, Joshua Fosgate, Jessica Shover and her husband David, Ashley Therrien and her fiancé Kyle Newell, Kyle Therrien and his wife Jeneen, Patricia Kendell, Margaret Rowland, and R. Alexander Rowland II; great grandchildren, Joey, Aiden, Oliver, Chase, Jeremy, and Jacksyn; sister-in-law, Sandra Arruda; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her first husband, David Fosgate Sr.; second husband, Norman Bouchard; great-grandsons, Jonathan, and Mayson; and her brothers, John Arruda Jr. and his wife Linda, and Joseph Arruda.

Gloria's family would like to thank everyone for the love and care shown to her, especially her dear friends, Eva Quebec, June Charbonneau, and Andy & Sue LaRocque.

Friends & family are invited to Gloria's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT.
