Hazel Westcot

March 20, 1917 — February 11, 2008

FRANKLIN - Hazel Pauline Westcot, age 90, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday February 11, 2008.

She was born March 20, 1917 in Roxbury, VT the daughter of the late Halbert & Reba (Ford) Whitney.

Hazel moved to Franklin from Roxbury when only two years old, after her mother died at a young age. Her Aunt Ellen and Uncle Carm Towle raised her. She was a graduate of Franklin High School and was a long time member of the Franklin Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. womens group. She loved to go for walks, participate in church activities, work in her flower garden, and study family genealogy.

She is survived by her four children, Sylvia Ledoux of Reading, VT, James Westcot and his wife Linda of Baltimore, MD, Richard Westcot of Franklin, and David Westcot and his wife Ann of Tolland, CT; her grandchildren, Debbie Ledoux, Mary Vittum, Christopher Westcot, Rebecca Gleason, Matthew Westcot, and Paul Westcot; her great grandchildren, Samantha & Brandy Vittum, and Shaina & Brooke Gleason; also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Guy N. Westcot in 1980. They were married in 1935. She was also predeceased by a brother, William Whitney; and two sisters, Lois Mills and Faith Palmer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 16, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Franklin United Church with Pastor Jason McConnell officiating. Interment will take place this spring in the Franklin Village Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held at the Franklin United church from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
