Helen Bushey

BAKERSFIELD - Helen G. Bushey, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

She was born August 2, 1936 in Enosburgh to the late Antonio & Annetta (Martell) Gervais. She married Donald Bushey on June 22, 1957.

Helen dedicated her life to nurturing both her family and the love of literature as a librarian at H.F. Brigham Library in Bakersfield. Her warm smile, gentle kindness, and passion for sharing knowledge touched the lives of countless individuals. She treasured the interactions she had with each person who visited the library, ensuring that everyone felt welcome and valued.

Helen leaves behind her husband, Donald Bushey; their children, James Bushey of Hope Hills, NC, Judith Leach and her husband William of Enosburgh, Lori Ann Bushey of Madison, NH, and Gary Bushey of Youngsville, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Bushey and his wife Marcia, Eric Bushey, Ashley Bushey, Holly Bassett and her husband Scott, Thomas Leach and his wife Jennifer, and Hillary Perkins; great grandchildren, Kaelynn, Everett, Dillen, Gavin, Arrissa, Weston, and Vivienne; siblings, Marcel Gervais and his wife Donna of Swanton, Robert Gervais and his wife Gisele of Enosburgh, Rose-Marie Manahan and her husband Timothy of Grand Isle, and Carol Wickert and her husband Dean of Palm City, FL; sister-in-law, Hazel Trahan; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her step-mother, Georgette Gervais; daughter-in-law, Dani Lynn; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Friends & family are invited to Helen's life celebration on Monday, November 20, 2023 to include visitation from 10-11:00 AM followed with a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickenson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT. Interment will be held in the spring in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg.
