With deep sorrow and enduring love, we announce the passing of Hortence Wheeler, acherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Hortence left this world peacefully on June 21st at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, Vermont.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roy wheeler, with whom she shared many years of laughter, hard work, and quiet joy. And was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Wheeler.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra DeMarinis, and Sandra's husband, John DeMarinis, both of St. Albans.
Hortence was the proud grandmother of Jennifer Merritt, and her husband Nicholas, of Fletcher, and Josephina Graham, and her husband Keith, of Franklin.
Her love knew no bounds when it came to her great grandchildren: Marianna Merritt, Cayden Graham, Grady Graham, and Tristan Grace Graham. Whether cheering them on from the sidelines; or simply listening with genuine interest to their tales, Hortence made each feel seen, known, and deeply loved.
She will be remembered not just for the love she gave, but for the legacy she leaves behind. Though she has departed from this world, her presence will forever remain in the hearts and stories of those who loved her.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no calling hours. A private graveside will be held for immediate family.
