LAKELAND, FL/ENOSBURG FALLS, VT- James F. "Jim" Miller, 79, died at his home on June 12, 2008. He was born in Toledo, OH and was residing in Lakeland, FL and Enosburg Falls, VT.
He was a veteran of the US Army Signal Corp in the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from public relations in 1986. He was a member and former president of the Public Relations Society of America, the Rotary Club, and Highland Fairways Golf Club. He was also a member of the Enosburg Falls Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline McDermott-Miller, his children Jeffery Miller and his wife of Minneapolis, MN and Jennifer Shimp and her husband of Miamisburg, OH, his grandson, Austin Shimp, his step-children Mark McDermott, Patty McDermott and her husband, and Peter McDermott and his wife all of Enosburg Falls, VT, Nancy McDermott and her husband of Newark, VT, and Mary Ann McDermott Reynolds and her husband of Sheldon, VT as well as many step-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Highland Fairways Golf Club, c/o Larry Hasting, 3208 Pebble Bend Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, VT 05495. A private graveside service will be held at the family\u0027s convenience.
