Janet Flint

SWANTON– Janet T. Flint, age 83, passed away on Sunday, April 16^th 2023, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Highgate Center on April 19^th, 1939, to the late Clarence and Melvina (Ploof) Cooper.

Janet graduated from Highgate High School and was a member of the Highgate Grange. She had a natural ability to connect with children and was a nanny in Highgate. She also worked at Union Carbide for a year before starting her family. She married Robert K. Flint on October 31^st, 1970. She loved caring for her family and baking for others. In her later years she was known as the “Brownie Lady” to everyone who was close to her. She enjoyed reading, watching the birds, playing cards, and going shopping with family and friends. Janet attended Care Partners and was the welcoming greeter. She was members of the following groups Catholic Church, St. Louis Highgate Parish, Holy Angels, and Catholic Financial Life, Chapter of St. Jeans.

She is survived by her children, Tricia Flint and Randy Flint; grandchildren, Robert and Jenna Flint; brother, Arthur Cooper; sister-in-law, Patricia Beeler; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Janet was predeceased by her husband Robert, sister, Aleta Bushey and her husband Wayne; brother, Robert Cooper; nephew, Keith Flint; great- niece, Samantha Flint; brother in-law, Rocey Flint and his wife Nancy; and sister in-law Shirley Flint.

Friends and family are invited to Janet’s Life Celebration to include a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, April 21^st, 2023, at 1:00PM at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Holy Angels Catholic Church, 245 Lake Street, Saint Albans. Interment will follow in St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate.
