BERKSHIRE - John L. Fournier, age 62, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 surrounded by his family at the McClure Respite House in Colchester.
He was born in Berkshire on January 1, 1957, the son of the late Adelord and Lucienne (Surprenant) Fournier.
John grew up in Richford and attended Richford High School. After high school he worked for Brouillette Farms, and then Champlain Chevrolet. In 1979, he opened his own business, Johns Auto Repair. John loved to rebuild street rods and he completed a total of 17. He also enjoyed going to car shows, driving around in his Ratrod , long motorcycle rides in the summer to Dunkin Donuts, and most recently running, he completed his first half marathon in 2015. John cherished his time spent with his daughter, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, strength, and providing for his loved ones without a second thought.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie Fournier and her husband, Corey Tibbits of Enosburg; his grandchildren, Khaled and Faith of Enosburg; his siblings, Pauline Favreau and her husband Daniel of Franklin, Mary Jane Marchessault and her husband Gaetan of Burlington, Roger Fournier of Franklin, Jack Fournier and his wife Tennie of Chesterfield, VA, Theresa Gapp of Chino, CA, Marcel Fournier of Richford, Lise Zalac and her husband Jeff of Danville, PA, Denise Dexter and her husband Bill of Rutland, and Marc Fournier of Gig Harbor, WA; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, especially, Allen Audette. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his nephew, Paul Chalifoux; and his sister in law, Ellie Fournier.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4-7:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 222 Missisquoi St. Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
