Raymond Lussier

August 30, 1941 — January 12, 2024

FAIRFAX - Joseph Gerard "Raymond" Lussier died on January 12, 2024 at his home, peacefully, with his life partner of 27 years, Rita Langlais by his side.

He was born August 30, 1941 in Burlington, Vermont. He was 82 years old.

Ray was always a hard worker. In his early 20's he built those blue silos on New York and Vermont farms. For years he installed flooring for several companies until he and his partner, Paul Gates, started their own company. He loved helping Rita in their gardens. If Rita dreamed it, he made it a reality. He worked almost steadily until COVID hit. He fought a long battle with cancer for over 3 years until it finally took over. He was at home on hospice since the day after Thanksgiving. He always wanted to be at home when the end came.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ovila & Julianne (Daudelin) Lussier formerly of Essex Jct.; his brothers, Norman Lussier, Andre Lussier and his wife Lucille, Yvon "Joe" Lussier, and Roger Lussier and his wife Bette Ann; and his brother-in-law, Richard Kylo.

He is survived by his soul mate, Rita Langlais of Fairfax; his children, Robin Lussier of Florida, Rachael Lussier of Vermont, and Ashley Chartier and her husband Shane of Florida; Rita's sons, Lorne Langlais and his wife Sophie, and Randall Langlais and his wife Rebecca; his sisters, Pauline Doyon and her husband Robert of Florida, and Carmen Marie Kylo of Nevada; his brother, Mario Lussier of Canada; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the United States and Canada.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the members of Franklin County Home Health & Hospice for the excellent care they provided.
