SAINT ALBANS- Joyce M. Church, age 74, passed away on February 15th, 2026, at the Northwestern Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 26th, 1952, in St. Albans VT, to the late George and Bessie (Bellevue) Bushey.
Joyce married her beloved husband of 57 years, Howard Church on September 27th, 1969, at the St. Albans Bay Church. Together, they created a rich and loving family life. Joyce was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to all who knew her. Joyce's life was a testament to kindness and compassion. She dedicated her career as a Licensed Nursing Assistant within the healthcare industry, providing care and comfort to those in need. Her gentle spirit and nurturing demeanor left a lasting impact on her patients and their families. Joyce was a proud mother to her children and embraced her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother with immense joy, often found creating sweet memories. Joyce had a zest for life that was evident in her many hobbies. She enjoyed playing bingo, participating in lawn sales, and the thrill of discovering used treasures such as shoes and purses and jewelry. Her love for animals was deeply felt, particularly for her cherished beagle, Jade, who brought her great joy and companionship.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Howard Church; children, Crystal Church and her significant other, Bill Barnes, Brenda Gokey and her husband David Gokey Jr., Randall Church and his wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Devon Barnes, Sonya Barnes and her significant other Jay Lussier, Shania Goss and her husband Jordon, Seth Gokey and his wife Alexis, Courtney Machia and her husband Drew, Shantelle Church and her significant other, Samuel Thibeault, and Kolby Church; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Kiley, Emmah, Hunter, Ava, Beckett, Charlotte, Leia, and Tatum; siblings, Diane McMahon, and Beverly Gagne; many nieces and nephews; and many brothers-in-law's and sister-in-law's. In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Pattsy Gebo; and her special brother, Jimmy Bushey.
In respecting Joyce's wishes, no services will be held.
