Kathy Benjamin

November 29, 1957 — January 2, 2023

FAIRFIELD- Kathy A. Benjamin, age 65, passed away after battling health issues on Monday, January 2, 2023.

She was born in St. Albans on November 29, 1957 and was the granddaughter of the late Olin and Abby Benjamin.

Kathy grew up in Franklin, attended Franklin Elementary School, and graduated from Missisquoi Valley Union High School. After graduation she worked for Fonda Container, and then moved to Essex to become a nanny where she found her knack for caregiving and love of children. She eventually became an LNA where she worked for Brownway, VerDelle Village, and Our Lady of the Meadows until her health took a turn. Kathy had an extensive collection of memorabilia for the love of her life, John Wayne. She enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, hosting annual June Dairy Day BBQs, celebrating everyone's birthdays, and spending time with children- they were the light in her life. Kathy was never afraid to tell you what she thought and never left you guessing. She was honest, generous, and had the biggest heart.

She is survived by her son, Olin Benjamin II and his significant other Misty Morgan of Fairfield; grandson, Olin "Bozo" Benjamin III; sisters, Judy Monty, Joann Bishop, Kelly Benjamin, and Jamie Wedge; nieces and nephews who were like children to her, Kristy Benjamin, Heather Monty, Mark Monty, Katy Monty, and Cheyenne Bishop; several great nieces and nephews, especially Zoe Powell and Mikayla Powell; and close friends, Tonya & Robert Thompson and their children that she thought of as her own, Wanda Reed, and Tina Burns. Besides her grandparents, Kathy was predeceased by her daughter Abby Mary Benjamin who she will finally be able to hold again; and her fur babies, Muffin, and Molly.

There will be no services, in keeping with Kathy's wishes.
