Klara H. Fillion

MONTGOMERY – Klara H. Fillion, age 85, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2021 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford.

She was born in Germany on October 21, 1935 to the late Georg & Anna Stummer.

Klara married the love of her life, Donald, who was stationed in Germany in 1956. They moved to the United States and started a family. She will be remembered by her children as the most nonjudgmental, open minded, and truly hospitable mother. Klara, or affectionately known as “Oma” treated everyone equally and never gossiped about anyone, she was a true lady. She welcomed everyone into her home to chat and share a cup of coffee. Klara was at peace and happiest when she was surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. Klara had a green thumb, which was obvious by her well-manicured flower gardens. She appreciated nature, and birds and loved spending time outside. Klara loved working with her hands, making anything crafty and she had a beautiful gift of knitting, especially mittens for her children.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Burns and her husband Richard, Steven Fillion, and Virginia Streeter and her husband Robin; grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Jessica, Anthony, Austin, Brendan, Nathan, and Oliver; and great grandchildren, Owen, and Ellie Klara. Besides her parents, Klara was predeceased by her husband, Donald Fillion; two sons, Mark, and Brian Fillion; and siblings, Inga, Gertrude, Helen, Paul, and Ida.

Klara’s family will be holding a private Life Celebration at their convenience.
