Larry R. Longley

June 20, 1955 — April 28, 2021

BERKSHIRE – Lawrence R. Longley, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, following a battle with Leukemia.

He was born in Meriden, CT on June 20, 1955 to the late Ralph & Marilyn (McKinney) Longley.

Larry was a banjo picking, bluegrass loving, hard-working jack-of-all trades, master of all. He played in multiple bluegrass bands over the years and would frequent bluegrass festivals around the area. He had a passion for logging and mechanic work. He could fix just about anything – tractors, crawlers, skidders, farm machinery, you name it! And the jokes were always free of charge.

Aside from work and bluegrass, Larry enjoyed history, visiting with his buddies, sipping Natty Light and telling jokes and stories. He was known to putter around home, fish, hunt, sugar, spend time with his family and baby his pets. He will be remembered as a true Vermonter – loyal, sincere, and hard-working.

He is survived by his wife, Janet (Archambault) Longley of Berkshire; their children, Angela Annis and her husband Jason of Ashburn, VA, and Joanne Longley of Colchester; grandchildren, Jonathan & Carter Annis; his cat, Hudini; brothers and sisters in law, Richard and Doris Archambault, Pauline and Rosaire Messier, George Archambault, Robert and Betty Archambault, Cecile and Jack Callan, Rita Drinkwater and significant other Paul Senesac, Dick and Lorinda Michaud, John and Linda Archambault, and Debbie Austin; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his brother, Maurice Longley and brother-in-law, Henry Archambault.
