BERKSHIRE - Laura Lynn Soule, age 58, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on June 2, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Berkshire.
She was born on August 31, 1967 in St. Albans to the late Edmond & Fredda (Snider) Ploof.
Laura embraced life with an unwavering spirit, grounded by her deep faith and love for her family, which were the cornerstones of her existence. A devoted Catholic, Laura dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a child care provider and elderly caregiver for many years. Her compassionate heart led her to open her home to elderly individuals, providing them not just care but companionship and warmth. Laura found great joy in nurturing children, imparting her wisdom as she taught many to ride bicycles, an experience she cherished.
Music was a vital part of Laura's soul. She skillfully played the acoustic guitar and created beautiful memories with her family through music. Recently, she nurtured her passion for flower gardening, working tirelessly in her flower beds, often for 12 to 14 hours a day, cultivating blooms that brightened the lives of those around her. Laura took pride in sharing her lovely bouquets, which she sold from her home, bringing color and joy to her community.
Laura is survived by her husband, Richard Soule III; her children Nathan Hale and his wife Kati, Jameson Hale and his wife Sally, and Kristen Bovat and her husband Schyler; step-children, Alicia (Nick) Soule, Autumn (Jack) Soule, and Jackson Soule; her beloved grandchildren, Lewis, Kaylee, Perrin, Terrence, Nashua, Nadine, Nicomas, Liam, and Harvey; her siblings, Cheryl Beaulac and her husband Jason, Patrick Ploof, and Eric Ploof; her God children, Terrence, and Travis; the father of her children, Dan Hale; brother-in-law, Matthew Soule; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Laura was predeceased by her parents, Edmond & Fredda Ploof.
