ENOSBURG FALLS - Leo T. West Jr., age 95, peacefully passed away on December 7th, 2025, at the Brownway Retirement Home surrounded by his family and his loving wife, Marie Anne West.
Leo was born on June 7th, 1930, in Franklin, VT, to the late Leo West Sr. & Elizabeth (Cross) West.
Leo married his loving wife, Marie Anne West, on July 7th, 1962, where they shared 63 years of marriage together. Leo and Marie Anne raised seven remarkable children. Their marriage was built on a foundation of love, support, and shared memories. Leo enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the pulp and paper manufacturing industry, where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and hard work, traits that mirrored his children's work ethics. In his private life, Leo was a passionate sports advocate and a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the Boston Celtics, rarely missing a game. He cherished the time spent scrapbooking for Enosburgh High School athletes, always celebrating their achievements with pride and enthusiasm. An enthusiastic collector, Leo found joy in gathering antiques, with a special fondness for antique milk jugs and bottles, reflecting his love for history and the stories behind each object. He was known for his unwavering devotion to his faith as a devoted Catholic, reflecting values of compassion, kindness, and community service throughout his life.
Leo is survived by his wife, Marie Anne of 63 years; children, Pete West and his wife Vicki, Mark West and his wife Michelle, Greg West, Rebecca Popat and her husband Vijay, James West and his husband Benjamin Nogueras and Timothy West; grandchildren, Ryan West, Josh West, Mariah Bosse and her husband Isacc, Kayla Panko and her husband Chris, Jesse West and his wife Haley, Cody West and his wife Morgan, Olivia Cooper and her husband Tyler, Alayna West, Jodie West, Gracie West, Greg West Jr. and his wife Vicki, Chelsea Kennett and her husband Chad, Jared West and his significant other MacKenzie Denny, Mason West, Samuel Popat and his significant other Megan Krone and Hallie Popat; 17 great grandchildren; 1 soon to be great granddaughter; siblings, Irene Montgomery, Elizabeth Norris, Joyce Menard, Lee West and his wife Sharron, Elaine Reed and her husband Donald, Barbara Colby, Carolyn Rondeau and her husband Andre and Patricia Nolan and her husband Dennis; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leo was predeceased by his son, Thomas West; siblings, Wanda Plante, Reginald West, Marion West, Gloria Beyor and Virginia Goulette.
Friends and family are invited to Leo's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00PM on Thursday December 18th, 2025, at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Ave, Enosburg Falls, VT. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th, at 10:00 AM at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home. Interment will be held in the spring at the Saint Anthony's Cemetery.
