Leonard Michael LaRose
February 4, 1947 - May 9, 2025
Leonard Michael LaRose passed away at his home in Franklin, Vermont, on May 9, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1947, in St. Albans, Vermont, the second oldest of seven children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Irene LaRose, and by his beloved brother, Mark LaRose.
In January of 1969, Lenny married Kathryn Norton, and together they shared 56 years of marriage. They raised four children-three sons and one daughter-living throughout the United States and Canada. No matter where he went, Lenny brought his bass guitar and his love of music, which he shared freely with everyone he met. Lenny never met a stranger.
He was also a gifted artist, and his paintings brought him great joy-as well as to those lucky enough to see them.
Lenny is survived by his wife, Kathryn LaRose; his son Michael LaRose, wife Sharon, and their daughters Olivia and Alina; his son Christopher LaRose, wife Eve Carefoot, and his children Ashley, Catherine, and Briar; his son Jonathan LaRose, wife Megan, and their children Max and Penny; and his daughter Lesley Hilton, husband Shawn, and their children Shane, Angel, and Camden.
He is also survived by his siblings: Phillip LaRose and his wife Ellie; Alan LaRose and his wife Terry; Robert LaRose and his wife Sharon; David LaRose and his wife Diane; and his sister Anne LaRoche and her husband Andy.
Lenny leaves behind many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He also leaves behind his lifelong best friends, Lee and Byrd Graham, who stood by him through many seasons of life.
Lenny's family would like to thank Dr. Lavallee for his many years of care, and the VNA for helping him achieve his final wish-to spend his last moments looking out the window over Lake Carmi. This would not have been possible without the love, devotion, and determination of his wife, Kathy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Enosburg High School Music Department, 65 Dickenson Ave, Enosburg Falls, VT 05450.
