Linda Barrette

WEST SWANTON - Linda G. Barrette, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, Sept 14, 2026 at her home in West Swanton.

She was born August 2, 1951 in St. Albans VT to the late Gordon & Edith (Kidd) Campbell. 

Linda's passion for family and friends was evident in everything she did, from her beginnings on a farm on Campbells Bay in Lake Champlain, West Swanton and countless moments since with friends and family especially the countless moments shared with her grandchildren, which she treasured above all else.

Linda's professional journey began at Fonda Container and the radar base in St Albans, where she honed her skills before joining the family business Barrette Ford as office manager and co-owner. Her dedication and attention to detail as well as her commitment to her work mirrored her love and attention to her family, making her an integral part of both her professional and personal connections.

A true lover of life's simple pleasures, Linda found joy in her flower gardens, boat rides with her parents and family, swimming in her pool, quilting, teaching her children and grandchildren and travelling. She had many wonderful adventures traveling with Jon, her best friends "the Carols", Paula and Toni and Jim as well as her adventures at Disney and the beach with her children and grandchildren. In recent years Linda enjoyed music and crafts with her friends at Care Partners in St Albans. 

Linda was a caregiver and friend to many, and she will be very missed. Her time since childhood tending to the West Swanton Church, as treasurer of the Eastern Star, Vice President of the Swanton High School Alumni committee, and love and caregiving for her special aunts who predeceased her, Bunty Perry, Connie Kidd and Mildred Medor Flood.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jon Barrette; their children, Sara Barrette Bigelow and her significant other Patrick Boucher, Meredith Henry and her husband Anthony, and Aaron Barrette and his wife Megan; grandchildren, Bella Bigelow, Edie Henry, Norah Henry, Lauren Barrette and Lucien Barrette; her brothers, Alec Campbell and Bobby Thomas; sisters-in-law, Paula Howrigan and Diane Barrette and her significant other Bruce LeGallais as well as her very special nieces and nephews, Ian and Jessie Campbell and Patrick, Shane, Jennifer and Kevin Howrigan. Linda was predeceased by her son-in-law, Billy Bigelow; brother, Bruce Campbell; sister-in-law, Suzanne Campbell; and brother-in-law, Patrick Howrigan.

In keeping with Linda's wishes, there will be a private memorial service. Friend and Family are invited to a celebration of her life on Saturday September 26, 2026 starting at 1:00 PM at The Abbey Restaurant, 6212 VT Route 105, Sheldon, VT.
