Linda Gene Norris, 80 years old of North Hero, passed away peacefully at the McClure Miller Respite House on January 1st.
A lifelong resident of North Hero, Linda had many fond memories of living on the farm her father worked and ran for many years. Along with many other memories of her grandmother and other family members.
Linda attended Alburgh High school where she met the love of her life, Eddie Norris. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage in November.
The eldest of four, Linda became the matriarch of the family at the young age of 26 after the unexpected deaths of her parents over a short Span of time, all while, with open arms, taking in her younger brother and sister.
Linda worked for Grand Isle Supervisory Union for 51 years and retired in 2017. She was the longest serving employee of the school district. Linda enjoyed gardening, having a large vegetable garden and perennial gardens around her home.
Linda and her daughter Ellen went on many shopping adventures, shows at The Flynn, house projects, hitting up any antique store that may have a certain treasure that had been sought after. A thousand piece puzzle to work on for a few months and always a brand new Nora Robert’s book by her bedside.
Her favorite holiday being Christmas, her house turned into a Christmas dream every year with all of her decorations, most specifically a tree with colored lights and a lot of tinsel, the 50+ Santa figurines that adorned the fire place mantel, along with the stockings, that she hung by the chimney with care.
Linda loved her family beyond measure. She made everyone feel loved and was always there with an open heart. Her love was unmatched.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Paulie), brother, Neil Hazen (Diane), grandchildren, Adam (Shayna), Joshua, Jacob (Franny), Pyper. Great Grandchildren Ayden, Blake, Wyatt, and bonus grandson, Sawyer. Nephews, Robert & Jeremy, niece Erica, sister in-law Cintra and brother in law Ernie Norris, and many other family and friends whom she loved dearly.
Linda was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Betty Hazen, in-laws Ernest & Gladys Norris, son Eric, nephew Rick, daughter Ellen, brother Richard, and most recently, her husband Edward.
The family would like to thank Beth Parizo for the care and love she showed Linda over the last few years. Also to The McClure Miller Respite House.
A graveside will be held this Spring at the convenience of the family.
