FRANKLIN / RICHFORD - Lionel Ronald Salois, age 93, passed away Wednesday afternoon May 14, 2008 at the Haven Health Care Facility in St. Albans.
He was born July 5, 1914 in Dixville, Quebec Canada the son of the late Arthur & Rose Alma (Hamel) Salois.
Lionel was a resident of the Franklin Homestead for the past 3 years and was a former resident of Richford moving from Quebec in 1958. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was a mechanic for many years for Harrison King and Blue Seal Feeds. Following his retirement from Blue Seal he was the automotive class instructor at Cold Hollow Career Center in Enosburg Falls for 3 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette (Rodrigue) Salois of Franklin. They were married October 25, 1937. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Yolande & Richard Winn of Marques, TX, Claude & Lorraine Salois of Hanover, PA, Ginette & Albert Desautels of Richford, Michele & Peter St. Germain of Highgate Center, Andre & Jeanne Salois of Tolland, CT, and Frances Salois of St. Albans; 17 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; 4 brothers and their spouses, Marcel Salois of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Maurice & Rolande Salois of Coaticook, Quebec, Adrien & Jeannette Salois of Montreal, Quebec, Sylvio & Lillian Salois of Sherbrooke, Quebec; 3 sisters, Claudette Brouillard and her husband Andre, Therese Peloquin, and Florence Salois all of Coaticook, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 2 sisters, Jeannette Salois, and Beatrice LaChapelle; and 2 brothers, Gerard & Armand Salois.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 19, 2008 at 3:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
A time of visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 to 2:45 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford
