Lorette Larose

FRANKLIN - Lorette Larose, age 98, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford, with her family by her side,

She was born on May 6th, 1927 in Berkshire, Vermont to Isidore and Meriza Godin

Lorette grew up on the family farm in Berkshire and attended Berkshire School until the age of 16 before leaving and completing her education at Holy Angels School in St. Albans. Although she often jokingly claimed she would never marry a farmer, Lorette's heart ultimately led her to marry one, embracing her life on the farm with grace and strength. She married Claude Larose on October 21, 1947 in Richford. Known for her remarkable ability to fix almost anything, she possessed a unique talent for sewing and crafting beautiful clothes. Additionally, she generously lent a helping hand in farm work whenever needed, showcasing her commitment to family.

Her deep faith was a guiding force in her life. Lorette was a devoted member of her church, St. Mary's in Franklin, where she found solace and happiness. She instilled the importance of attending church to her children. Her patience and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Larose and his wife Mary, Claudette Carswell and her husband Daniel, Dale Larose and his wife Marsha, and Karen Quintin and her husband Andre; grandchildren, Kaitlin (Dan), Jacques (Chelsea), Patrick (Julie), Alex (Melanie), Chris (Jessica), Elizabeth (Kyle), Hannah (Mike), Seth, Connor (Jolie); great grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, Jacob, Isaac, Ella, Cameron, Austin, Kennedy, Hadley, Wells; siblings, Jane Godbout, Raymond Godin, and Claire Godbout; and several nieces and nephews. Lorette was predeceased by her parents, Isidore and Meriza, her husband, Claude Larose; siblings, Lawrence "Buddy" Godin, Rita Desnoyers, and Lucien Godin.

Friends and family are invited to Lorette's life celebration to include a Mass of Christian burial on Monday, June 23rd, 2025 at 10:00AM St. Mary's Catholic Church, Square Road Franklin, VT. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Franklin Homestead & Carriage House in the Felco Room.
