Lorraine Danyow

SHELDON - Lorraine Danyow, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

She was born January 30, 1957 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Geroge & Bethel (Stowe) Baranik.

Lorraine was known for her nurturing spirit, having been a caregiver for her siblings in their youth, and later for her beloved children. Her vocation as a devoted homemaker and former secretary at the Sheldon School for twelve years reflected her endless commitment to family and community.

A true lover of life, Lorraine found joy in caring for her family, reveling in the drama of her favorite daytime soaps, and keeping a watchful eye on the boys at Howrigan Farm. She relished the peaceful moments spent at their camp on Fairfield Pond. Her creativity also shone through her love of crafting and her dedication to organizing the Sheldon Craft Show for an impressive 32 years, a testament to her devotion to the local community.

Lorraine often cruised around in her golf cart, tending to her gardens, and checking in on the neighbors. In a world that often rushes by, Lorraine valued connection and took the time to check in on her loved ones daily, whether through a phone call or a heartfelt visit. She had a knack for finding treasures while thrift shopping and enjoyed hunting for unique finds at local lawn sales.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Danyow; their daughter, Ellie Danyow; siblings, Mary & Danny Larose, Nancy Snider and her husband Norman, Jeffrey Baranik and his wife Beverly, and Richard Baranik and his wife Christine; her brothers-in-law, Danny Danyow, and Stan Hendrick; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her son, Joshua Danyow; sisters-in-law, Sally Danyow, and Sandra Danyow-Banks.

Friends & family are invited to Lorraine's life celebration to include visitation from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home, 96 Dickinson Avenue, Enosburg Falls, VT. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home. Interment will be held this spring in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Sheldon.
