SWANTON - Lucien Menard, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home on Maquam Shore, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Saint Albans on June 24, 1931 to the late Lucien and Delia (Greenia) Menard.

Lucien was a lifelong resident of this area. He married his high school sweetheart on February 11, 1950 and was happily married for over 50 years, until the passing of his wife, Hildred, on November 25, 2005. He took great pride in the cottage on the lake that he built for his family to share. The cottage was a special place of memory making and sunset watching. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed painting, especially landscapes. He always looked forward to biweekly visits to the casino, and couldnt plan the next trip soon enough. Lucien was a member of VAST and enjoyed grooming snowmobile trails. Lucien worked as a plant manager for A.G. Anderson for over 30 years.

He is survived by his children, Daniel Menard and his wife Jane of Highgate, Judy Desorcie and her husband Daniel of St. Albans, Spring Perras and her husband Eugene of Franklin, and Penny Nye of Highgate and her companion Paul Sheehan; grandchildren, Cindy Desorcie (Trevor), Jennifer Corey (Mike), Victoria Kelsey (Kevin), Elizabeth Marsha (Trevor), Benjamin Nye (Elizabeth), Desarae Gabree (Brad), Kristian Perras (Leanne), Rebecca Menard (Marc), and Daniel Menard (Allison); 17 great grandchildren; his significant other, Sandy Martin, her children, Debra Martin, Bob Martin (Marie), Tim Martin, Sr., Wendy Gratton (Dave), and their families; and several nieces & nephews, including a special niece Janet Harrison; Besides his parents, Lucien was predeceased by his wife, Hildred Menard; brother, Sylvester Menard (Gertrude); sister, Ada Beyor (Phillip).

In keeping with Luciens wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
